You may have seen more and more products containing CBD on the high street shelves. Thanks to their growing popularity, many retailers are stocking up and providing all manner of different types of products, from edibles to drinks and skincare products.
If you have always been curious about CBD and what has made it a buzzword for health and wellbeing, here are a few key things to know.
What’s in CBD Products?
Whether you choose oil drops or one of the many edibles, each contains cannabidiol (CBD), a natural extract taken from the cannabis plant. It is one of many different cannabinoids and separate from the compound THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, which is responsible for providing a psychoactive “high” feeling cannabis is known for. Most CBD products contain no THC or trace amounts, meaning using CBD oil, creams or drinks will not cause an intoxicated, “high” effect. Due to this, CBD products have become commonplace with plenty of helpful advice and tips found on sites like CFAH, highlighting the benefits of consuming or absorbing this natural remedy for your health.
What are the Benefits?
CBD reacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS), which interacts with many biological functions as well as the brain. These receptors are responsible for how you sleep, digest food as well controlling your mood amongst many more. Studies have shown that using CBD can provide effective pain relief, help lower symptoms of anxiety, depression and help improve mood, sleep and even your skin. If you have sore muscles or joints, for example, applying CBD oil topically to the painful areas can help provide relief, thanks to the anti-inflammatory properties of CBD. The various advantages of CBD use within your daily routine have seen the steady influx of different products hit the market, designed to make benefit from it much easier.
What Types of Products Can I Buy?
There are many ways to start enjoying CBD with each having different strengths of dosage depending on your requirements. Whilst CBD oil is still one of the most popular, it allows you to regulate the amount of CBD you take, so you can add a few drops to water or your favourite, or even add into any creams or moisturisers as part of your skincare regime. There are also softgels and supplements that can be taken in the same way as other popular products like cod liver oil, alongside a meal once a day.
Alongside these more traditional methods, there are many more designed for convenience that are infused with CBD. This includes CBD tea, coffee, and soft drinks as well as CBD cookies and gummies, for easy dosage on the go. If you want to apply directly to the skin, you can choose CBD infused body lotions, moisturisers, and bath products. This makes topically applying to your skin much quicker than adding oil drops each time.
So, if you haven’t tried CBD as part of your daily routine, there are many ways to start and try it for yourself. You’ll be able to find the most convenient product for you and see how CBD can help improve many aspects of your wellbeing.

I’ll be honest cbd makes me nervous of side effects although I have heard such amazing things about it

I take CBD for difficulty in sleeping and find the liquid works best, but maybe only because it’s difficult to regulate the dosage and I may be taking a larger dose the the gummies.
