We received a great game to review from Crayola. I’m sure you know them for their fantastic art and craft products like crayons and colouring pens. What you probably didn’t know was that they have now ventured into the world of games and they have a fantastic selection. This is just perfect if you are still thinking about things to buy for your kids for Christmas. A game is always well received by my girls so I know it will be great addition to our shelf of games at home.
The game we were sent by Crayola to review was the Scribble Scramble game! It is a disappearing drawing game! How does this sound? Is it fun already? Yes, it is! You will need to draw your picture before it gets wiped out, so the quicker your team guesses, the more points you score. The whole point is to be quick because if you take too long doing it then your drawing will be gone!
To play this game you need a minimum of 4 players as you should have a team of at least 2 people so there is always 1 person to scribble and another person to guess. You should be guessing each other’s scribbles based on what is on the Game Cards. The players should draw on the board before it disappears.
You can choose the duration of the game between a short, medium or long game. So for the short game, the winning team should score 5 points, for the medium game, 10 points and for the long game, 15 points.
CONTENTS
- 1 x Scribble Scramble Unit
- 2 x Crayola Dry Erase Markers
- 65 x Game Cards
Just be aware that the Scribble Scramble Unit will need 3 x AAA batteries that are not included, so be sure to buy them before you are ready to start the game!
You will need to pull the drawing board section of the unit out straight until it reaches the stopper and all three zones are visible. Also, you will need to place the cards and pens in the top of the Unit. Make sure the cards are shuffled and facing logo side up.
HOW TO PLAY
1. Take a Card
Over 400 questions to choose from! A range of difficulties and several options on each card so all the family can play. The team with the youngest player begins the game.
2. Get Going
You will hit start and get drawing before it gets wiped out. You then hit again to stop the clock and look at which zone you guessed it correctly in to see how many points you scored.
3. Zone Play
Pick where to draw, so the closer you draw, then the more points you will get. You will need to watch out for the time.
4. Double Draw
Here both teams draw at once.
This game is for ages 6 and over so it was perfect for Bella although some words were not that easy for her to draw. You can see a video below of me playing the game with Bella to demonstrate how it works:
The Crayola Scribble Scramble retails at £19.99 and you can buy it from most retailers such as Argos, Smyths Toys, J D Williams and Amazon among others. You can see the Amazon details below:
WHAT WE THOUGHT ABOUT IT
This is definitely a fun game. My daughter even enjoyed playing it on her own as she just puts the timer and loves trying to scribble a picture against the timer. She finds that hilarious. She has been doing that a few mornings already hence why she is in her lovely pyjamas in these pictures, LOL. She is already on holidays for Christmas now (I know! Tell me about it!) so this game has been a great help for me as I was able to work while she was very entertained playing! I’m sure this game will be awesome during Christmas as we will be able to play with the rest of the family! 🙂
What do you think of this game? Have you bought a Crayola game before? If so, what did you think of it? Do you like games that involve scribbling? Are you planning to play some games over Christmas? Please leave a comment below as I would love to read what you think
