The Bliss of a Hot Bath: A Mother’s Dream

amomentwithfranca · 15 May 2017 · 15 Comments

I don’t remember the last time I had a proper, nice, long hot bath in peace! Since becoming a mother, time for myself has become a luxury. Before Bella was born, I used to enjoy a hot bath at least once a week. After she arrived, I managed to sneak in a few here and there, but since having Sienna, it’s just not an option anymore.

The Bliss of a Hot Bath: A Mother’s Dream

The Joy of a Hot Bath

It’s a little sad because I truly enjoyed those baths! There’s something incredibly soothing about sinking into a tub full of bubbles, fragrant oils, and steamy hot water. Closing my eyes and allowing myself to be transported to a magical place—a dreamy soak as if I were on an exotic island—was my personal slice of heaven.

The Reality of Motherhood and Me-Time

These days, this kind of “me time” feels like a distant memory. I dream about those long, relaxing baths, especially on days when I’m overwhelmed with motherhood. Bella sleeps through the night now, but she doesn’t go to bed as early as I would like. And when she finally does, it’s not long before Sienna is waking up and calling for me. It feels like a never-ending cycle! I know it’s just a phase that Sienna will outgrow, but until that day comes, I can only fantasise about having the perfect bathroom that would allow me to indulge in the ultimate hot bath.

My Dream Bathroom

In my dream bathroom, I envision a large window overlooking the sky. How wonderful it would be to gaze at the moon while soaking in a hot bath! Of course, I’d need blinds to create that cozy, magical atmosphere when needed. A bathroom without blinds doesn’t quite feel complete to me, especially if I want to fully switch off and relax.

Finding the Perfect Blinds

There are so many different styles of blinds available if you browse online. For my dream bathroom, I’d want something both practical and easy to install. I’ve found some beautiful options at VELUX that fit the bill perfectly. Whether you’re looking for blinds for a bathroom, bedroom, or living room, they have a fantastic range to choose from. Their products offer the perfect mix of style and functionality.

Dreaming of a Relaxing Bath

So, that’s my vision—a bathroom designed for the ultimate bath-time retreat. A space where I could once again enjoy the simple pleasure of a hot bath, something I’m sorely missing right now. Fingers crossed that one day I’ll have a bathroom like this!

What about you? Do you love taking a hot bath as much as I do? What would your dream bathroom look like? Would you want a window with blinds for that extra touch of relaxation? Let me know in the comments!

I have a bath every night but it’s rarely one with bath salts, candles etc I’m not very good at spending time in the bath ….just in , scrub & out. I take less time than my sons.

I love a long relaxing bath – when I get the chance! I once stayed in a hotel where the bathroom (with a sunken bath!) had a huge vaulted window above it. Lying in the bath watching the stars was absolutely amazing – so that would actually be my ideal bathroom. I do always want a window in my bathroom – it just doesn’t seem right without one.

baths are defintely one thing I couldn’t lve without, I think a skylight (or roof window) would be an amazing way to enjoy seeing outside without the worry of people seeing in (well unless a plane flew past very low of course)

I like having a bath and a shower. I do not like windows because there does not seem to be any obscured glass that actually obscures without a blind or curtain of some kind.
