First Goal for 2016: Losing Weight

amomentwithfranca · 11 January 2016 · 46 Comments

At the beginning of last week I published a post about My Goals for 2016 and my first personal goal was losing weight. This is something that is bothering me a lot lately, as I mentioned in that post, I managed to lose about 13 kilos before I was pregnant with my second daughter Sienna. I didn’t gain that weight straight a way but it has definitely been going in the other direction since just before the Summer. Now I have pretty much gained back those 13 kilos!!! 🙁

First Goal for 2016 FINAL FI-

I feel very disappointed with myself because I didn’t want this to happen. My brain went against what I should actually be doing. It is really a nightmare! Lately I’m starting to feel so uncomfortable with my clothes. I know very well that when you reach this stage you should definitely do something about it.

I have the feeling that starting blogging back in May 2016 didn’t help me as I spent most of my spare time sitting down in front of my laptop which is really bad! I could really use some of that time to be more active I suppose. Now I really want to be more organised. One of the things I also mentioned was to find a balance between my personal life and my blogging life. If I manage to do this I will be able to be healthier.

Also, I need to do this because I’m not only a blogger but a vlogger and there are certain videos that I’m starting to feel uncomfortable to film because of feeling really horrible. I just don’t like looking at myself on camera any more because I start criticising myself. I really feel bad in the videos which doesn’t do any good for my self esteem. I really want to feel confident again but I’m finding it very hard to bring back my will power lately! It is a constant battle and then I just don’t do it any more.

Therefore, you can see I’m in need of a proper plan and I think I have finally found a solution to my problem. I was lucky to be offered the opportunity to try something different. The people from Thinking Slimmer approached me and asked if I’d like to be part of a 12 week program along with a small group of other lovely bloggers who share the same goal as me. They explained to me that this was a different program and that I wasn’t going to be doing a diet. The process is a little bit longer but the results are amazing. As you can see I just had to say YES!! Anything that could help achieve this goal will be welcome for me!! lol.

The program that they were talking about was the Slimpod Gold program, so what is this? Slimpod is a a unique voice recording that you listen to for just nine minutes a day. The programme gently retrains your mind, changing the way you think about food and how you feel about yourself. Slimpods avoid any notion of a diet, instead they gently nudge your unconscious mind towards making better eating choices. Slimpods don’t tell you what to eat or what not to eat but guide your unconscious mind to help it create its own solutions.

I’m very intrigued about this program now. I have been trying it for a few days and have felt some effects but I won’t write anything yet as I will discuss this in more detail in another post. I will try to write about it more often during the 12 weeks so I can update you with my progress, so let’s see if it works!!! Wish me luck! 🙂

Have you heard of the Slimpods from Thinking Slimmer before? What do you think about them? Do you think this is something that you would try? Leave me a comment below as I’m very curious to read what your thoughts are.

*Disclaimer: I received the Slimpod Gold program to try for the period of 12 weeks but everything else is my truly honest opinion.

Thanks for stopping by,

Love you all ❤️

I think you look fabulous as you are! But everyone has there own levels of comfort around their weight. I have heard great things about Thinking Slimmer – in fact I have heard great things about Thinking Slimmer and just bought the silver package to use with in conjunction with the current diet I’m on. I look forward to reading more xx

Please don’t beat yourself up about your weight, beauty is so much more than the number on the scales. Slim pods sounds like an intriguing concept. I can see that your beliefs and thoughts about food would influence what and how much you eat. I read an interesting book by Paul Mackenna about thinking yourself thin.

Sounds interesting! Can’t wait to follow your journey and see what you think. I’ve been lucky that I’m more or less back to my pre-pregnancy weight, but I know I need to start making healthier choices, because even if it’s not affecting my weight it is definitely affecting my mood and energy levels. #KCACOLS

My scales are not my friend at the moment so I know what you mean. It’s that point where your clothes start to get a bit uncomfortable that makes you want to do something about it. You look fabulous to me lovely but good for you if you want to try something new. I’ll be interested to see how it works for you. Good luck. Dawn x

I have not heard of that losing weight regimen but I’m all about training the mind to rethink. I am in the process of trying to train my mind to replace alcohol with working out. I never used to crave sugar…EVER…but I’ve noticed since I cut out the drinking that I crave sugar more now so I just don’t keep any of it in the house. Good luck and thanks for hostessing the wonderful #KCACOLS! Trista

Good luck Franca! If you believe this will work then it will. The mind is powerful and by believing the recording will make you make better choices, you unconsciously start making better choices. Thanks for hosting #KCACOLS

I think this seems interesting. I’m a firm believer that people’ s bodies and metabolisms are all different, and so different types of diets work for different people. I also believe the mind is a powerful thing, and so if you believe listening to the recording will help you, then it likely will. Sometimes what we need to hear has to come from outside ourselves. I’m on my own fitness journey at the moment, so I wish you best of luck with yours. Will be checking back to see how things go. Be healthy, because you are already beautiful.

I have never heard of these before but they sound great. If they work the way they sound, you should feel naturally like you want to eat healthily. I hope they work, and I look forward to hearing how they make you feel. I can totally relate to the blogging / sitting a lot. It has given me less time for everything else, but primarily movement!!! I am hoping to get more active this January too.
I’m glad #KCACOLS is back, I hope you had a lovely Christmas and New Year.
    Amanda.

I’m not convinced about slimpods but I think anything positive & that helps is good. Wishing you loads of luck & healthy thoughts. I’m a lbs & stones girl though so not entirely sure what 13 kilos is 🙂 #kcacols lifeinthemumslane

Wow, sounds amazing! Good luck indeed. I think half the battle is acknowledging it (with me it is when the jeans get tight!) and then retraining yourself – so this sounds fab. Best of luck xx #KCACOLS
