Healthier Gums With the Silk’n ToothWave Electric Toothbrush

Silk’n approached me again (I previously reviewed their Silk’n FaceTite Ritual) to try their Silk’n ToothWave which I am loving so much. If you are looking to reduce tartar, remove stains, teeth whitening and to get healthier gums, this is definitely the product for you. In this blog post, I will tell you all about my experience and my honest opinion about this toothbrush.

I am regularly looking for products that will help me to improve my dental care. I used to have issues with my gums as they used to bleed a lot so I was always worried I would get gum disease. So now I am always conscious about taking care of my teeth and keeping my gums in good condition. So in this post, I will tell you all about the Silk’n ToothWave Electric Toothbrush that I have been testing for the past 6 weeks and has done wonders for my teeth.

I am so grateful to have been able to try the Silk’n ToothWave. This is a revolutionary electric toothbrush that is not just a simple toothbrush. It has definitely improved the condition of my teeth. I wash my teeth every day and even use dental floss to help with the parts that my regular toothbrush doesn’t reach but even with all of that, I still felt that something was missing. 

I haven’t used a proper electrical toothbrush before. I have only had the ones where you press a button and it vibrates but doesn’t do a thorough job of cleaning. It is more me brushing it around my mouth and hoping I am doing a good job. But with the Silk’n ToothWave, the way it cleans your teeth goes to a whole other level. It really goes way beyond brushing.

What is Silk’n ToothWave

Silk’n ToothWave is the first electric toothbrush with DentalRF™ technology that is able to remove discolouration, stains and tartar. It makes teeth visibly whiter and prevents gum disease and tooth decay. I have tried ToothWave for 6 weeks now and can definitely see the difference.

Silk’n ToothWave is not just a regular electric toothbrush. With the help of DentalRF™ (Dental radiofrequency) technology, it is able to deliver results which are comparable with treatments at a dental hygienist. I feel my teeth stay cleaner for a longer period which is amazing.

How Silk’n ToothWave Works

Impurities, like discolouration, stains and tartar attach themselves to the tooth’s surface via strong molecular bonds. Standard brushing methods cannot break these bonds and strong chemicals that can will damage the teeth. Silk’n ToothWave sends mild radiofrequency waves of charged molecules to the surface of each tooth. These charged molecules destabilize the bonds between the tooth’s surface and the impurities. The impurities are then detached from the tooth’s surface, to be immediately replaced by other molecules that originate from the water and toothpaste which are present in the mouth.

I have noticed that due to their DentalRF™  technology, I can feel a thorough cleaning of my teeth, they feel much fresher and cleaner. I can tell the difference. And because of the way this technology works you can achieve cleaner and healthier gums. I like the idea of using a toothbrush that will go beyond brushing and will give me such a thorough cleaning that can be compared to the ones with a dental hygienist.

Innovative Brush Heads That Protect Tooth Enamel 

Together with your ToothWave you receive two innovative brush heads (small and large) with very soft bristles. It contains two electrodes and a silicone strip that lies in between, so the Radiofrequency waves move between the two electrodes and the silicone strip forces the waves to reach the tooth’s surface.

While DentalRF™ technology is doing all the hard work detaching the toughest impurities from the tooth’s surface in a safe manner, the brush heads sweep away any impurities without damaging the tooth enamel and prevent sensitivity and pain.

At the start, you would probably feel that the bristles are too soft and perhaps they won’t do a proper job but the thing is that harder abrasive bristles would produce an opposite result as they can make your gums bleed resulting in sensitive teeth and deteriorating oral health. So, having softer bristles really helps the goal of sweeping away any loosened impurities so there is no need to have hard bristles because it’s actually not the bristles or vibration that are doing all the hard work, but the DentalRF™ technology that provides the amazing results.

Battery Life: Up To 2 Weeks

I love this feature so much. One full charge will work for up to 2  weeks. And this is including regular use of twice a day for 2 minutes. This is perfect when you go away for a short trip so you don’t need to bring the inductive charging cradle with you.

Smart Timers

This is another great feature. Silk’n ToothWave is provided with a smart 30-second interval timer, reminding you to move to the next section of your mouth. I love this because I now know that when I get the timer I should be starting a new section, this way I am making sure every section of my teeth is receiving the same cleaning.

Dentists recommend brushing your teeth for 2 minutes to achieve a thorough cleaning. With ToothWave you will get a 2-minute timer, so it will stop automatically. This way you know you are done.

Before I started using Silk’n ToothWave I didn’t know how long I was brushing my teeth but it was way less than the 2 minutes recommended, so now I am very happy to be able to know when to stop.

3 Vibration Speeds

You can choose between 3 vibration speeds: high, medium or low. ToothWave can also be used without any vibration. In all 4 modes, the DentalRF™ technology is active.

I personally love using it in the highest vibration but I understand that probably some of you would find the highest vibration a little bit uncomfortable at first but you will get used to it very soon increasing the vibration gradually.  I enjoy using the highest vibration because I feel I am getting a thorough cleaning so effectively better results.

Waterproof

The device has an IP67 rating, which means that it’s waterproof and suitable for use under the shower or while taking a bath.

This feature is perfect for me.  I love brushing my teeth when I am in the shower so being able to use the ToothWave in the shower helps me to reduce my time in the morning because now I can brush my teeth while I am leaving my conditioner settled in my hair.

Safe to Use on  Braces and Dental Implants

The DentalRF™ and vibration technology are suitable and safe for use on metal braces, fillings, facings and all other types of dental implants. This is great! So, I don’t have to worry about my fillings.

My Thoughts

As I mentioned above, I have been trying the Silk’n ToothWave for 6 weeks and I am very happy with it so far. At the start, I was a little bit apprehensive because I have never had any luck with my teeth before, but this toothbrush is amazing.  It really does the job. Already my teeth feel cleaner and look cleaner.

I’m always open to trying new products that will help me with my teeth so this time I am very pleasantly surprised with the results. I love how the toothbrush looks and what it does. It is so easy to clean your teeth as there is no need to adjust your dental routine and you can use ToothWave with any kind of toothpaste.

I can definitely see a huge improvement with my teeth. I don’t seem to have any bleeding, some tartar is reduced and some discolouration has been removed as you can see they look whiter.

The key to achieving the best results is to brush your teeth twice a day for the 2 minutes that the toothbrush is on. I feel a super clean feeling. Also, my teeth feel cleaner for a longer period of time.

The soft bristles took a little bit to get used to but very quickly I was comfortable with it. But soft bristles are much better for my gums. I also like the colour and there is no bleeding or irritations.
