If you are investing in new furniture for your patio, you can choose from a number of options in terms of purchasing, reusing, or finishing items you already own, in order to keep costs down. So rather than simply toss your old items, consider some of these ways to give your patio some new life, without overspending in order to do so.
1. Reuse what you own
If your furniture is still in decent condition, consider refinishing it. For wicker or wood, consider using different paints, thinners, and sanding the pieces, to give them new life. Paint items a different colour. If you want to add something to the pieces, consider buying a new seat padding, or adding a few decorative pieces to what you already own.
2. Consider used
You can visit a local salvage yard, or go “vintage” with your pieces. There are a number of sites online, as well as local thrift shops or salvage yards, which sell used items. You can refinish these, give them your own personal touches, and give new life and vibrancy to a patio which needs some updating and changes.
3. Consider catalogue shopping
You can also finance the sets you are going to buy. Instead of purchasing from a high priced boutique or shop which specialises, consider a catalogue which sells furniture sets and pieces. Not only will you typically find lower prices on these items, but you are also going to find more selection as well. In addition to this, you can finance the cost of the new sets you are going to buy. So you do not have to come up with the full price up front and can pay off the total purchase over time.
4. Know when to buy
If you shop, compare, and time your purchases (wait for sale dates or promos), you can save a great deal on the price of patio furniture as well. Making sure you know when sales are taking place, how to spot the discounts, and where to shop when sales are coming up, are some ways to keep costs down with purchasing your new patio furniture sets.
You do not have to overspend in order to give your patio that new life and new look it needs. These are a few simple ways you can keep the cost down, and still revive the space which has seen better days when you are looking to modify your home’s patio area.

There really is a lot that you can do to save some money when buying outdoor furniture. However, my favorite advice that the article offers is knowing when the right time to buy is. After all, outdoor furniture tends to be seasonal so, if you’re looking for a specific kind, it might be best to look when it is out of season.
