It’s almost Mother’s Day which is one of those times in the year when we typically buy flowers as a way of showing our Mum’s some love. I love receiving flowers from my loved ones and its something I really look forward to around Mother’s Day and Valentines. It’s perhaps something some of us don’t really give much thought to, but expressing our love can be difficult.
In this post I am sharing a very interesting infographic which was shared with me. It highlights the results from a survey of how different groups habits and attitudes differ when it comes to showing their love with flowers on such special occasions. The infographic has been put together by Flying Flowers, who of course have a great selection of Mother’s Day Flowers if you haven’t ordered yours yet!
It’s interesting that only 5% of those asked would buy flowers to say I love you to their dad, yet 76% would do so for their mum. Another thing that caught my eye was that people who live in the North are more likely to spend more on flowers per year than people in the South. That’s another blow to the myth that it’s grim up North! Very fascinating!
What do you think of the findings? Will you be buying flowers this Mother’s Day? Do you normally spend more than £50 a year on flowers? Let me know in the comments below.

see this is interesting because I love flowers but I have a real issue with spending over £50 on flowers. my mum used to be a florist and as much as she loves flowers I begrudge paying so much for them. this year I ordered a Sainsburys delivery of some cheaper flowers, 6 bottles of her fave wine and some haribo! her fave sweets! and all delivered for under fifty quid 🙂 #kcacols

I find mother’s day awkward because I hate the thought of too m8ch money being spent on me for a made up holiday. So I’ve made a deal with the other half that the kids only get a small bunch of tulips or something like that from Lidl for me and a card. The card is the most important thing to me #kcacols

I do love to receive flowers but sadly it hardly ever happens! I tend to get some on Mothers day but that’s about it. I would be so chuffed to receive some flowers out of the blue! #KCACOLS

I love tulips and roses but I honestly am not at all bothered about getting flowers as a gift. I prefer simple gifts for Mother’s Day such as Haribo, wine, chocs. #KACOLS

I do like flowers but my husband hates cut flowers as he sees them as something that is dyng from the moment it’s been cut, a view he inherited from his mother. So in our family we tend to spend money on plants or flowers that can be put in the garden instead.

Interesting Franca. I spend a lot of money on flowers each year and also from the perspective of an ex-Florist this is interest to read. I have also used Flying Flowers too! #KCACOLS

I tend to buy my mum pot plants for Mother’s Day rather than flowers as they last longer. I have to say however I love having fresh flowers in the house, they really do brighten the place up! #KCACOLS

interestingly, my husband usually buys flowers for our home when he goes shopping….I buy (realistic looking) faux flowers because I like to have a certain ‘look’. Mu husband is from Holland though, where flowers are really really cheap and so beautiful – hes used to having them in a home. #kcacols

I like to send flowers. Who doesn’t like opening the door to find such a surprise? I send my mom flowers at least once per year. #KCACOLS
