Each year we choose our real Christmas tree from Pines & Needles so here we are again. We love this tradition, which started 8 years ago! Every November we count down the days to the last weekend of the month to go and choose our Christmas tree all together as a family. It has to be a unanimous decision though so sometimes that can take a little while for all of us to be happy.
Pines and Needles have the most gorgeous trees. They really last a long time and make the minimum mess. Their needles hardly drop which is one of their best features. This year we decided to choose a bigger tree. Our previous trees have been between 4 ft to 6ft. But this year we went for a 7ft! I know it was ambitious as we live in a flat but we made sure it would fit by doing some measurements beforehand and it was fine, so we went for it!
Choosing our Pines & Needles Real Christmas Tree
We went to the Pines and Needles pop-up store in Brent Cross shopping Centre. This is the first time that we have visited this pop-up store as we normally go to the pop-up store outside 123 Cleaning shop. But this year we wanted a different location that would have a wider selection and it didn’t disappoint as it has a fair amount of trees that we were able to choose from.
They had so many beautiful trees that it was difficult to choose one straight away but after going around we finally choose the one perfect for us which is gorgeous! As I said it was a Nordmann Fir 7ft tree so we were so excited to see it in our living room.
Delivery Of Our Pines & Needles Real Christmas Tree
They delivered it to us the day after. We received several notifications to keep us updated. You can now track your delivery to make things smooth, this way you can make sure you would be at home when they deliver it.
The guys that delivered our real Christmas tree were so nice and especially very knowledgeable. One of them has been doing this job since he was 16 years old! So imagine how experienced he was! He knew how to answer all our questions. One of the queries we had was about the size. As soon as we saw the tree we realised that it was actually a little bit bigger than expected and is because they can be a few cm bigger than the 7ft and also we had to consider the stand but they were so quick to let us know that they were happy and ready to cut the bottom of the tree to make it fit.
They actually had to cut the top of the tree branch too so our star could fit at the top. They did an amazing job because it all fitted very well and our tree looks so impressive! We absolutely love the size! We are never going back to a smaller size anymore! It does look impressive! The bigger the better for sure.
Despite the option of picking up your tree personally at one of their pop-up stores, they can also deliver to your door, install, decorate and even take away and recycle helping to take the stress out of Christmas!

We decorated our real Christmas tree with the girls. Nick put the lights, Sienna put the star at the top and the little angels with their names and Bella put the bubbles around the tree.
We follow our colour theme from the previous year as we still love it. It has white, silver and gold. It looks so pretty with the blue icy lights too. We got a couple of new baubles that we incorporated into our theme. It is nice to add a new bauble every year.

We now feel the Christmas spirit around our home and it is so lovely! I love counting down the days up to Christmas. These are the most exciting times!

I have never had a real Christmas tree.
We only had a real tree once when I was a kid. Love the new idea of having trees that are potted and returned to the tree farm each year to carry on growing.
We haven’t had. Real tree since I was a child – main thing I remember is the family arguements over choosing the tree each year!

Your Christmas tree looks superb! We don’t have the room for a tree but we do have a Christmas wreath on the front door. Unfortunately, the blackbirds realised it was real and stole all the berries off it so we have had to buy some artificial berries to replace them!
Real trees always look smaller at the shop than they are when you get home
I do like real Xmas trees but you have to pay to get a decent one and they can get messy!
