Ravensburger CreArt Painting By Numbers Kit for Children Review

amomentwithfranca · 14 May 2022 · 298 Comments

My eldest daughter, Bella got a cool kit to review from Ravensburger. We love Ravensburger products. We have different puzzles and games at home from them and they are great. She received a CreArt Pawesome Polar Bear Painting By Numbers Kit. She likes arts and crafts, so this kit was a fun activity to do. The image was so cute! We love polar bears.

About Ravensburger

Ravensburger is renowned for its long tradition and solid values. Over time, they have become the leading brand for puzzles, games and entertainment products in Europe.

About Ravensburger CreArt Painting by Numbers kit

With the Ravensburger CreArt Painting by Numbers kit, your little ones will learn to colour the different images with care and attention as well as improve their artistic talent and developing motor skills. In the end, they will feel a sense of joy, pride and satisfaction that will stimulate them to want to continue painting.

There are three different levels of difficulty: you go from simple images with few large colouring spaces to images with small spaces for the most experienced.

The content inside the Box

Inside the box you can find the following items:

  • 1 x high-quality thick painting canvas size 24 x 18 cm
  • 2 x cardboard paint potholders
  • 1 x fine point durable paintbrush for detail painting
  • 15 x acrylic paints in numbered pots (15 colours in each box)
  • 1 x easel to hold the pots
  • 1 x easy to follow guide sheet 1
  • 1 x presentation frame to display finished artwork
  • 1 x sachet of varnish
  • 1 x pack of glitter

Skills developed

Your kids would develop the following skills:

  • Encourages creativity
  • Helps to develop concentration
  • Improves motor control
  • Promotes child development through play
  • Promotes following instructions and logical thinking

How does the Ravensburger CreArt Pawesome Polar Bear Painting By Numbers Kit work?

They have 2 different types of kits depending on the age of the kids. They have some for kids ages 9 and up and some for kids ages 7 and up. We got the ones for kids ages 9 and up.

To start, they recommend wearing old clothes and covering the table with a newspaper. You’ll also need a paper towel and a cup of water.

Then, you should put the paint pots into the holder to prevent spilling. There are 15 acrylic paints in numbered pots, this means that she used 15 different colours to paint the image. To open the pot, it should be done carefully and firmly holding the lower tab of the lid to avoid any messes.

The high-quality thick painting canvas is where she should be painting the numbers. It is a lovely size 24 x 18 cm, so big enough for a nice display. You can see the borders of the image there.

The numbers shown on the painting canvas tell you which colour to use for each area. She just needed to select an area to start with and find its paint pot.

If there is enough paint, you’ll see the numbers disappear. If a number still shows through once the paint has dried, you should simply paint over it again. There is an easy to follow guide sheet in the kit that shows all the numbers. Keep this handy as you will need later to know where the numbers were.

You should always close the paint pots after use to prevent them from drying out. After all the numbered areas were painted, you should simply let the picture dry overnight.

To make your image shine, you should use the brush to apply a thin layer of varnish across the entire picture. It looks really nice after applying this.

You could also make the picture sparkle by mixing the remaining varnish with the glitter. The dotted areas on the control sheet show you where to apply the glitter varnish.

Once the picture is dry, you can frame it and your room will sparkle!

Where to Buy Ravensburger CreArt Painting By Numbers Kits & Price

You can buy Ravensburger CreArt Painting By Numbers Kits for £9.44 from Amazon. This is a reasonable price for a beautiful painting that your little ones can treasure forever.

CreArt Painting By Numbers Kits is suitable for kids ages 7+. You just need to check the different levels available for different ages. They have different images to choose from over different subjects like CreArt Koala Cuties Painting By Numbers Kit.

Our Thoughts

The CreArt Pawesome Polar Bear Paint By Numbers Kit kept Bella entertained for a while. It was a simple enough activity that she was able to complete independently. I love the end results. She did a fantastic job!

This kit is perfect for keeping your kids entertained. It is very easy to use which makes it a great gift for birthdays, Christmas or Easter crafts.

Do you have a little artist at home? Have you or your little ones tried Painting By Numbers before?

*Disclosure: I received a couple of Painting by Numbers kits for the purpose of this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Love you all ❤️

My mum in law has a painting by her beloved son aged 8{my husband} using paint by numbers.
It’s been on her wall since I’ve known her. Must admit it looks pretty good. It would be good
to carry on the talent with our granddaughters.
