Happy 7th Birthday my lovely Bella! I still can’t believe you are 7 years old! I still remember when I met you for the first time the day you were born. I wanted you for so long! It took me more than 24hrs to finally meet you that day.
I thought I was never going to see your face because it was taking so long! I was so scared! I had no clue what would happen. It was my first time giving birth, being in labour, so I didn’t know what to do or what to expect!
The contractions were so strong that I cried for an epidural straight away. I even slapped your daddy because I was in so much pain, LOL! Now I laugh but he was really amazing as he took all my frustration very well.
24hrs in labour
I was lucky to have your Nonna (my Mummy) giving me her support too. It was great having her there as I was so lost and the labour went on forever. She was a wonderful company as she even massaged my feet which got really swollen after several hours of labour. It was lovely!
After my water broke, I thought I was going to meet you very soon but things didn’t happen that way! When the doctor came to check on me I was still at 2 cms. It was like my body didn’t want to cooperate!
After almost 24 hours fighting, you were in distress and the doctors decided an emergency c-section was necessary. They were worried I might get preeclampsia so needed to operate fast. I was not scared of having the operation. I’m not sure why I wasn’t. Maybe because I knew this would mean that you would be able to come out very soon. I was so anxious about meeting you.
We finally met you
The whole preparation took time. They gave me an anaesthetic and I started shivering a lot. It was so strange but I was just focused on the prize which was you. I had your daddy next to me all the time. He was very anxious to meet you too. We both wanted this wait to be over.
The whole operation lasted 45 minutes and you came to this world 10 or 15 minutes after it began. It was all so quick! I couldn’t believe I tried so hard to give birth naturally for 24 hrs but then when the operation started you were there in front of us so quickly.
First examination after being born
OMG, all that hard work was worth it because there you were so beautiful handed over to me! My heart couldn’t stop pounding. I was just waiting for that cry so I knew everything was okay. Daddy let me know that everything was good. He was checking that you were okay all the time.
Since the moment I saw you, I couldn’t believe my eyes. You were so gorgeous! It was a miracle! How could it be possible that I made something so perfect? You made me the happiest person in the whole world because I finally became a mum thanks to you! Thank you for that my lovely!

The love I have for you is inexplicable! It is so big that I can’t imagine my life without you, my sweety pie! You are so grown up now that it is unreal! I know this is a cliche but time really flies! And that reminds me that we should appreciate every minute that we have together.

You are becoming such a lovely little girl who is slowly coming out of your shell. You were very shy before but now I can see you have moved on from that which makes me really proud.
I know that when Sienna was born things weren’t easy for you. You were just starting reception and you really needed me more than ever but I couldn’t be there for you as much as I wanted and I’m so sorry for that. I hope I can make it up for you somehow. You really managed to get through that year very well and we are incredibly proud of you for that.
