Before I started blogging, I worked in different offices practising law. I would usually work long hours in these offices which meant that my office chair was very important. It needed to be comfortable so I was able to deliver and also achieve my deadlines. I was actually lucky to be able to have fairly good chairs during my time spent working in an office.
When I moved to the UK, I had the opportunity to work in the best location ever. The office was in front of Barkley Square, in London’s Mayfair which had the best view ever. It was right in the heart of London and I felt incredibly lucky to work in such a nice area and building. So, with that in mind, you would expect a good chair to go with it, and yes, it was. I had a very comfortable chair which was actually like my best friend as I had to sit in it for so many hours. Luckily I also had my hubby there as you may have read in a previous post I wrote: “A Letter to my husband: 7 years together” where I explained about meeting at work.
Very comfortable here sitting in one of my office chairs! 😉
After that job, I moved to a couple of offices which also had very decent chairs. They were all very comfortable and able to support my back which is really important when you are working many hours in an office. It is also very important that you give yourself a little break and walk around and stretch your legs from time to time as that will help your circulation and help reboost your energy.
Now that blogging is my full-time job, I work from home which means having a decent home office space and therefore a decent office chair. I wanted something stylish, that looked cool and modern but at the same time, comfortable such that I could be sitting in it for a long number of hours. This is a space that Nick and I share together but obviously, I use it more as it is my work space during the day and usually his work space in the evenings.
We decided to buy this swivel chair in white to use as our home office chair and we have loved it from day one. It is very comfortable, having had many hours sitting in it – we definitely think it has been a great choice. It is very important for us as it has been part of our amazing journey since we started this blog, so yes, it is very special!
This is our little home office space. You can see our white swivel chair.

Quite agree it is very important to have a chair which fits your back correctly.
Being a stenographer for several years it was very important to me, also being able to adjust to the correct height, making it easier to type at speed.

Perfectly timed post, we have moved and I have moved into a new office, working from home and blogging means I spend a lot of time in my office, my current chair is looking a bit tatty and doesn’t go with the new office! I have seen a similar one to yours from ikea but am so indecisive!
Great tips, and I like that my Apple Watch reminds me to get up and move about during the day!
