Top Camping Recommendations For Beginners

amomentwithfranca · 14 February 2022 · 7 Comments

There’s no denying that camping is one of the ideal ways to take a break from your daily routine, which is the reason why more than 40 million people across the world, go on camping. However, for a beginner, it can be pretty overwhelming, especially when you have no one to help you on your side. Hence, if you’re new to the concept of camping and you would need some guidance to help you out, then this guide is perfect for you.

This guide will help you give an insight into the world of camping and what can you expect, so that you can obtain your campervan rental without any worries.

CAMPING TIPS FOR BEGINNERS

1. Choose The Ideal Camping Gear

When you’re out camping, you need the ideal gear to perform your activities. Some of the must-have camping gears include:

  • A camp stove
  • Lanterns and torches
  • Tents
  • Sleeping pads
  • Sleeping bags
  • Camp chairs
  • Camp dishware

Ensure that you purchase your camping gear from reliable manufacturers so that you can expect the utmost reliability, efficiency and longevity.

2. Don’t Forget To Plan For Bad Weather

If you’re travelling in an area which is notorious for bad weather conditions, then don’t forget to take relevant steps for mitigating the same. Hence, we suggest packing the following items without fail:

  • Insect repellents
  • Sun protection
  • Waterproof clothes
  • Enough warm clothes
  • Umbrellas and rain suits

Moreover, we’ll also recommend checking the weather forecast beforehand (at least three to four days prior), so that you can get an idea of what the weather is going to be. However, do remember that weather forecasts are not entirely accurate and you have to take them with a grain of salt.

3. Schedule Your Camping Activities In Advance

Ensure that you plan your camping activities before you leave your home. By scheduling your activities beforehand, you’ll be able to make the proper arrangements ahead of time and don’t have to worry about anything.

Of course, your plan might not be a hundred per cent fruitful one, but at least you can expect eighty to ninety per cent of what you plan to work properly. Any deficiencies you need to manage or improvise.

4. Select Your Campgrounds Beforehand

If you’ll use campgrounds to stay overnight, especially when travelling in a campervan, then make sure you create a list of the available ones that will fall en-route to your destination(s). Campgrounds are safe places to stay at night and are a must consider when travelling with kids.

Lastly, don’t forget to enjoy your camping trip because camping is all about having fun and relieving what nature & its wilderness has to offer. Happy camping, and stay safe.

Fab tips! I’d add in having a practice run of pitching your tent before you go – the last thing you want is to get there & find out there’s a pole missing*
    *Speaking from experience lol.

I love to campervan.myself. I would say try glamping first to see if you might like it and borrow kit to take.
