On a recent Sunday afternoon, we decided to go out of the house and have some fresh air. We had been at home all morning and were desperate to do something different and to get the girls out of the house. You are not going to believe how good it is sometimes to just go for a nice walk to the park for some fresh air. It was a dark and wet day but even like that it is just nice to spend some time out with your family. We decided to go to Golders Hill Park. I have never been there but Nick had and he promised me that I wouldn’t be disappointed. We all quickly changed and went out to explore the park. OMG guys! I really wasn’t expecting this park to be that beautiful!! If you are ever in that part of London you should stop by and have a look around as it is really gorgeous!
They have large green spaces. It looked like we were in a wild wood. You could tell all around that Autumn was really upon us now. You could see the beautiful leaves all over the ground with those yellow and orange colours that are really stunning at this time of the year.
I took lots of photos of that afternoon. It was just perfect! As soon as we arrived we just walked around and explored the area a little bit. Bella was so happy. She wanted to pose and asked me to take pictures of her. It was so funny! She just knows now what to do when I’m taking photos of her! It was really cute.
They have a really nice playground for the kids. My girls were so happy playing there. We really had a good time until the weather got worse and started raining. It didn’t last too long though so we thought it could be nice to keep walking towards the other side of the park as we didn’t want to leave without seeing everything!
Golders Hill Park is home to a free zoo, with a growing collection of rare and exotic birds and mammals such as laughing kookaburras, ring-tailed lemurs and ring-tailed coatis. It is one of only two free zoos in London registered with BIAZA, the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums. They also have a separate area for deer near to the small zoo.
There are some large expanses of grass, but it also has a formal flower garden next to a duck pond with a small humpback bridge, butterfly house, a bandstand, a separate water garden, which leads onto a larger pond with both black and white swans. Isn’t this place amazing!! I love it!!
We then went to the park café and on our way we found a lovely squirrel and a friendly cat! At the Café we had a lovely cup of coffee (Nick and I) and some hot chocolate drinks for Sienna and Bella. They had lots of yummy desserts so we picked a few different ones to share between us all. It was really nice!
After that we headed back home. It was really a lovely Sunday afternoon which we hadn’t planned and it ended up being one of the best!! Sometimes being spontaneous and just going with the flow leads to a better outcome. What a beautiful time we had as a family.
Do you also like to do spontaneous things? If yes, did you enjoy it? Was it worth it? What kind of things did you do? Leave a comment below and I would love to know your thoughts.
Thanks for stopping by,
Love you all ❤️

Ah this looks like such a lovely family day out! I love British parks, especially at this time of year when all the trees look so pretty and the leaves crunch under your wellies. Bella looks like she was having a great time. We always try and go out for a family walk on Sundays and take our dog for a good run around – you’re so right, the fresh air can do wonders for your mood! #KCACOLS

Golders Hill Park looks a real gem and what a wonderful time of year to visit. The colours on the leaves are stunning and there is so much well kept space. It looks surprisingly quiet when you visitied, so many fdifferent areas to it as well, I’m sure the girls love the playground the best but the lake and the cafe would be a draw for me too. I think you might be returning to this one. thank you for sharing with me on #CountryKids

It looks amazing there. Brilliant photos. There are such beautiful parks in London. I love the idea of the zoo too! My daughter loves animals so much I could keep her entertained free for hours here. Pity I no longer live in London! And a park with a cafe, double bonus! #KCACOLS

Hi there,
Golders Hill Park sure look brilliant! We have been very spontaneous in the past. A lot less so since the boys have started school. We’ve been to Blackpool for a long weekend, went to Great Yarmouth. Most travelling we do these days is driving back to the gatwick area to see family. Norfolk definitely is much quieter than London and the South east! Wonderful fotos!! #KCACOLS

Looks like you all had a great day, love all the pictures. We had a lovely day yesterday, baked some gingerbread men, painted pictures and went for a walk around our local duck pond..was so lovely because we didn’t plan anything just kind of let the day take us wherever it wanted. Sometimes it is better when you are spontaneous, planned outings don’t always end up how you had hoped. If I am ever in London I want to go here!xx #KCACOLS

Looks gorgeous! I love a lovely park and london has some cracking ones. A free zoo though…now that does sound fab! I just love it when places have got a bit of everything for a family while still being nice places to go for everyone. You know, not too obvious. We live near some nice seaside so do lots of last minute trips to the beach and the new forest, always fun. Thanks for hosting #KCACOLS
