At the beginning of last week I published a post about My Goals for 2016 and my first personal goal was losing weight. This is something that is bothering me a lot lately, as I mentioned in that post, I managed to lose about 13 kilos before I was pregnant with my second daughter Sienna. I didn’t gain that weight straight a way but it has definitely been going in the other direction since just before the Summer. Now I have pretty much gained back those 13 kilos!!! 🙁
I feel very disappointed with myself because I didn’t want this to happen. My brain went against what I should actually be doing. It is really a nightmare! Lately I’m starting to feel so uncomfortable with my clothes. I know very well that when you reach this stage you should definitely do something about it.
I have the feeling that starting blogging back in May 2016 didn’t help me as I spent most of my spare time sitting down in front of my laptop which is really bad! I could really use some of that time to be more active I suppose. Now I really want to be more organised. One of the things I also mentioned was to find a balance between my personal life and my blogging life. If I manage to do this I will be able to be healthier.
Also, I need to do this because I’m not only a blogger but a vlogger and there are certain videos that I’m starting to feel uncomfortable to film because of feeling really horrible. I just don’t like looking at myself on camera any more because I start criticising myself. I really feel bad in the videos which doesn’t do any good for my self esteem. I really want to feel confident again but I’m finding it very hard to bring back my will power lately! It is a constant battle and then I just don’t do it any more.
Therefore, you can see I’m in need of a proper plan and I think I have finally found a solution to my problem. I was lucky to be offered the opportunity to try something different. The people from Thinking Slimmer approached me and asked if I’d like to be part of a 12 week program along with a small group of other lovely bloggers who share the same goal as me. They explained to me that this was a different program and that I wasn’t going to be doing a diet. The process is a little bit longer but the results are amazing. As you can see I just had to say YES!! Anything that could help achieve this goal will be welcome for me!! lol.
The program that they were talking about was the Slimpod Gold program, so what is this? Slimpod is a a unique voice recording that you listen to for just nine minutes a day. The programme gently retrains your mind, changing the way you think about food and how you feel about yourself. Slimpods avoid any notion of a diet, instead they gently nudge your unconscious mind towards making better eating choices. Slimpods don’t tell you what to eat or what not to eat but guide your unconscious mind to help it create its own solutions.
I’m very intrigued about this program now. I have been trying it for a few days and have felt some effects but I won’t write anything yet as I will discuss this in more detail in another post. I will try to write about it more often during the 12 weeks so I can update you with my progress, so let’s see if it works!!! Wish me luck! 🙂
Have you heard of the Slimpods from Thinking Slimmer before? What do you think about them? Do you think this is something that you would try? Leave me a comment below as I’m very curious to read what your thoughts are.
*Disclaimer: I received the Slimpod Gold program to try for the period of 12 weeks but everything else is my truly honest opinion.
Thanks for stopping by,
Love you all ❤️

Good luck lovely. Will definitely be following your progress. Baby number 2 is due a month tomorrow for me, then I’ll definitely be looking to lose some weight myself – baby weight is a nightmare to shift as I found out last time! #KCACOLS

You look gorgeous in the vlogs – you shouldn’t feel bad! I’m always amazed by how ‘together’ you look and wish I could pull it off! #KCACOLS

I’ve never heard of a slimpod? but after the festive season I am definitely no longer at my “target weight” so i’ll be joining you in having a weight loss goal for 2016 x Thanks for hosting another fab #KCACOLS

I think you look great! I can really relate though. I had my second child a year ago. I am diabetic just in pregnancy and but it increases the risk of diabetes eaxh time I am pregnant and my second left me prediabetic – so I have double the reason to lose weight and I still can’t seem to manage it.
The program seems… interesting…but I am not convinced something like that could work. Having said that, nothing else has worked so why not try this?! I will be really interested to see what you think of it.

Can’t wait to hear how it works – would definitely give something like this a go! x #KCACOLS

You are gorgeous Franca and I love how you look in all your blogs. But I know that feeling when you don’y feel comfortable in your clothes. I’m a bit the same at the moment. I’m trying make better decisions about my food too. Snacking on fruit and trying not to have chocolate in the house is my first step. Good luck with the programme and I hope you get the results you are after x #KCACOLS

I will be interested to follow your progress as I am not familiar with Thinking Slimmer. I know what you mean about not feeling right and it doesn’t matter how many people tell you otherwise, you have to feel confident in yourself about the way you look. Despite that, I am still going to tell you that you look fab! I wish you every success with losing the weight that you want (you are determined so I have no doubt that you will) and I know you will then feel so much happier in yourself 🙂 #KCACOLS

I’m really interested in this concept and to see how you are finding it. I have managed to put on nearly all the weight I lost back in the summer now!!! Arghhh so back to Slimming World again. I know exactly what you mean about clothes being tighter etc. My husband took some photos of some dresses I am reviewing at the weekend and I look absolutely awful in them!!!

Good luck with the programme, sounds really interesting and I’ll be keen to know how you get on! #KCACOLS

Good luck Franca – although you look lovely as you are, I understand that you want to do this for yourself! I am still 1.5 stone heavier than I was before i was pregnant with Arthur, but there are certain things i suspect wont change back, such as my tummy – I suffered from diastasis rectii as Arthur was so big (and I was not) and unfortunately it looks like my stomach muscles may never fully repair from this – not to mention the fact my skin was SO stretched from such a big bump! My rib cage is al so still wider from the pregnancy too. I am still breastfeeding so I wont be dieting at the moment – but before i fell pregnant I did a version of the Dukan diet where i cut out ALL sugar ( even fruit sugars), all processed food and carbs and basically just had loads of fresh vegetables and lean meat and protein. I lost over a stone and felt so healthy and my skin was really clear too – id def try that again! #KCACOLS

Good luck with this honey – it’s always good to have something to aim for. But you are beautiful as you are so don’t put too much pressure on yourself. xx #KCACOLS

This sounds lush! You look fab though darling but I completely get it, I once had a lovely body if that’s not weird to say?! But I’ve just piled so much weight on, I need to change my mindset. Your plan sounds great and I really hope you get the results you’d like, I look forward to updates! #justanotherlinky

Awww Franca, you look lovely! Its such a shame to hear that you are not feeling happy with the way you look at the moment. I understand what a big deal this is for any woman so I wish you the best of luck with achieving this goal. The ThinkingSlimmer Slimpods sound very intriguing and I cant wait to hear more about them. The approach sounds very sensible, I guess its just a case of whether it works for you or not, so fingers crossed and all the best! x Emily #KCACOLS

Back in 2002, I managed to lose two stone with WeightWatchers. Since then, I’ve been up and done but never putting on more than a stone.
It’s amazing how much confidence it fills you with, once you do achieve your goal. I guess it’s a sense of achievement with the old I can and I will.
Good luck with this goal and I hope you achieve your target weight.

Best of luck on your new plan! I do Slimming World and love it x #kcacols

I think you look fabulous in your pictures! I know it is so easy to say, but please don’t be hard on yourself. We lead such busy, stressful lives and for me, finding the time to properly organise my exercise and food regime is such a challenge. I haven’t heard of slimpods before so will be watching your progress with interest..good luck! I am interested to know what the foods all taste like as well..?
Losing weight is a big challenge for me too. I am now heavier than I was full term with both pregnancies and this fact has been a shock to the system. I am doing a 100km charity walk in August so the Fitbit is back on and I am braving the cold and going out in the evenings with a torch!
Thanks again for hosting #KCACOLS xxx
