After suddenly waking up from a weird dream, have you ever wondered what the actual meaning of it was? Dreaming is something that we all do but sometimes those dreams can be a little bit strange, making no sense what so ever. This leaves us wondering what the real meaning behind it all is.
I have been thinking about dreams lately and I have come to the conclusion that a lack of sleep can sometimes makes you dream even more when you actually manage to fall asleep. This is because you get into a more deep sleep which is when you start dreaming. Sometimes I know that I have had a dream but when I wake up I can’t remember it. On other occasions however, I have a dream and I can remember it very well!
My sleep patterns have been all over the place since having children with lots of interrupted nights. My girls still jump into my bed in the middle of the night which is always a disruption for me. I tend to be more tired because of that so when I fall sleep, I tend to fall asleep very quickly. I can literally fall asleep anywhere now but of course if I’m in a comfy place like the sofa, my bed or a riser recliner chair it is more likely that I can have a dream.
I have been asked by Adjustamatic, to share with you one of my dreams and my daughter’s dream as part of their latest new campaign called #DreamsExplained. They will soon be launching a video featuring Ian Wallace who is a top dream psychologist and oneiric, where they will be featuring 5 dreams. It would be nice to have one of my dream or Bella’s dream analysed by a psychologist!
A few days ago I had a dream which I happened to remember. I dreamt that I was in a house that in the dream I owned but it didn’t look anything like our home at all. I was in the house with my husband and my two daughters. I know they were all there but I couldn’t actually see them. Then I heard a noise. It was someone knocking. I was going to stand up and open the door but I heard my husband going instead so I didn’t move. A few minutes later I heard a loud scream and the noise was now getting closer and closer to me. I turned my face towards the door and saw my husband coming and screaming because someone had punched him in the eye. It was nobody we knew so it was very strange. One of my husband’s eye has almost no vision. He can only see shadows and it is very blurry. This person punched my husband’s good eye that has no problem. This meant that my husband was unable to see at all so he was very upset and confused. At that moment I felt terribly upset and confused too. The feeling was that intense that I immediately woke up feeling scared. After a few seconds I felt so relieved that it had just been a horrible dream.
I asked my daughter Bella if she has had any dreams recently that she could remember. I was happy to hear that she had so I asked her to tell me all about it. She said that she was in a strange place surrounded by horses and fairies. It was all very pretty and peaceful. Then, suddenly someone held her and called her name. That was a voice that said “Your mum and dad are not here so you have to leave”. This had such an impact on her that she got super scared and because of that she woke up. When she told me her dream I was intrigued about what it meant. It would be nice if her dream is chosen and can be interpreted by Ian.
Bella’s dream and my dream were both unusual and made no sense. I would be interested to know what the meaning behind both dreams is. Fingers crossed we get picked! 🙂
Do you dream often? Do you remember what you dreamt about? Do you try to interpret them? Do you sleep better on the sofa or in bed? Please leave a comment below as I would love to read what you think.

Wow, both your dreams sound so confusing and pretty scary in their own way. I have no idea what they could have meant, I hope you get picked so you can find out! I am always having really weird crazy dreams, especially now that I’m pregnant!xx

It’s odd how some dreams seem to come out of nowhere at all…do keep us posted! #KCACOLS

The meaning behind dreams has always fascinated me! I have a lot of recurring dreams, and have tried many times to analyse them using a book on dreaming I bought several years ago. I still haven’t been able to figure it out though!
Oh and I also wanted to add that you are lucky you fall asleep so easily! I’m also waken a lot through the night by my kids, but no matter how tired I am I still seem to take forever to drift off.

I very rarely dream these days, not that I can remember anyway, I don’t think I sleep for long enough! My eldest always says that she dreams about fairies, I dream about cupcakes, her baby sister dreams of milk, and my husband dreams about football. I find dreams fascinating and I love analysing them – yours sounds very unsettling, maybe something to do with vulnerability? #KCACOLS

I have very VERY vivid dreams. They are usually about everyday mundane things, I’ll dream I went to the supermarket and got groceries….. then I’m surprised in the morning when I go to make toast but there’s no bread because I haven’t actually been shopping! #kcacols

I don’t seem to remember my dreams any more. I find it hard enough to remember what I am doing in my waking hours! #KCACOLS

I used to have recurring dreams as a child. The usual ones of a teacher announcing an exam I hadn’t prepared for…I also used to have a dream that a dinosaur came down our street and we had to find a good hiding place in our house so he couldn’t find us. It was very scary because He would look through the windows trying to spot us!
Thankfully I havent had those dreams for a long time! #KCACOLS

I hope your dream and Bella’s dream gets selected to be explained, good luck. I usually don’t even remember most of my dreams since I became a mummy I blame it on being exhausted and waking up for night feeds. I can fall asleep any where nowadays if I get the chance, from long car rides, sofas, the bed, etc #KCACOLS

Very strange, I’d like to hear what they mean too! I have always had lots of strange dreams. Sleep talking, sleep walking, sleep stroking my arm. You name it! Lol. I would say every day I can remember what I dreamt the night before and some dreams stay with me for years. Usually they are a mish mash of thoughts and events from my day and I can decipher their reasoning myself. Sometimes they are just off the wall. I’m quite used to it now though! I hope yours get chosen to be translated, good luck! #KCACOLS

I used to dream but not any more. My sleep is constantly interrupted but, surprisingly, not by the three and nearly one-yr-old but by the snoring husband and dog. I used to love wondering what they meant, though. I hope you get picked and get to the bottom of yours; they sound quite intense! #KCACOLS

When I remember my dreams they usually have a really obvious meaning to do with something I am anxious about – often my boss is in the dream doing something scary, putting me on the spot usually! 🙂 I am sure your dreams will be a lot more interesting to interpret 🙂

I might be a strange person burnt find that after ice had a dream that has jolted me awake I am more relaxed during the day. It’s like a release of all the tension that has accumulated.
I haven’t been able to recall a dream for a while.

Gosh I dream all of the time and remember them vividly! Cheese and chilli do not help! The campaign looks really interesting. I know dreams can be linked to any worries or things on our minds. What a scary dream for you to wake up to.
Sleep deprivation, pregnancy and when I was taking my IVF meds made my dreams more detailed.
It’s such a good idea to at our little ones if they have any dreams. They need to know they’re not real. Thanks do much for sharing Franca X Sunita #KCACOLS

I often find myself having strange dreams. They often have something remotely to do with what happened during the day or people/things I’ve been thinking about. #KCACOLS

Whenever I had a strange dream I usually try to interpret it. I agree since kids I never really get good sleep and my dreams have become very odd. I can’t wait to hear if your dreams do get interpreted by Ian! #KCACOLS

Some dreams can be so random! I always try and think back to try and remember if something I’ve dreamt has been briefly mentioned and that’s why I’ve dreamt about it. I have a reoccurring dream that I have a science exam but I’ve not revised, I always wake up as I’m about to take it. My colleague had the same one so it must be work related! #kcacols

I used to have lovely, detailed, thriller like dreams but now..I’m so tired I just pass out. Get waken up by kick in the face, a hungry breastfeeding 22month old, a snoring husband or my 3.5 year old who does have very detailed dreams which sometimes give him a bit of a fright! Last night he dreamt a lego man was climbing into his rucksack and were coming after him, so he decided to jump out of bed and try to run away screaming! Such an active mind even when sleeping! #KCACOLS

Firstly I am so jealous that you can fall asleep quickly – that is a skill I have yet to master even as a sleep deprived mother of a 6 month old baby! Your dream sounds unnerving as does Bella’s one. Hope they analyse them for you. I rarely remember dreams, I know some people that keep a notebook beside their beds to write their dreams down as soon as they wake! #KCACOLS

These dreams sound really interesting! Hope you get chosen! I have such strange dreams, I’m not sure i’d know how to start explaining them! #KCACOLS
