Interpretation of your dreams – #DreamsExplained

amomentwithfranca · 18 August 2016 · 69 Comments

After suddenly waking up from a weird dream, have you ever wondered what the actual meaning of it was? Dreaming is something that we all do but sometimes those dreams can be a little bit strange, making no sense what so ever. This leaves us wondering what the real meaning behind it all is.

#DreamsExplained FI

I have been thinking about dreams lately and I have come to the conclusion that a lack of sleep can sometimes makes you dream even more when you actually manage to fall asleep. This is because you get into a more deep sleep which is when you start dreaming. Sometimes I know that I have had a dream but when I wake up I can’t remember it. On other occasions however, I have a dream and I can remember it very well!

My sleep patterns have been all over the place since having children with lots of interrupted nights. My girls still jump into my bed in the middle of the night which is always a disruption for me. I tend to be more tired because of that so when I fall sleep, I tend to fall asleep very quickly. I can literally fall asleep anywhere now but of course if I’m in a comfy place like the sofa, my bed or a riser recliner chair it is more likely that I can have a dream.

I have been asked by Adjustamatic, to share with you one of my dreams and my daughter’s dream as part of their latest new campaign called #DreamsExplained. They will soon be launching a video featuring Ian Wallace who is a top dream psychologist and oneiric, where they will be featuring 5 dreams. It would be nice to have one of my dream or Bella’s dream analysed by a psychologist!

A few days ago I had a dream which I happened to remember. I dreamt that I was in a house that in the dream I owned but it didn’t look anything like our home at all. I was in the house with my husband and my two daughters. I know they were all there but I couldn’t actually see them. Then I heard a noise. It was someone knocking. I was going to stand up and open the door but I heard my husband going instead so I didn’t move. A few minutes later I heard a loud scream and the noise was now getting closer and closer to me. I turned my face towards the door and saw my husband coming and screaming because someone had punched him in the eye. It was nobody we knew so it was very strange. One of my husband’s eye has almost no vision. He can only see shadows and it is very blurry. This person punched my husband’s good eye that has no problem. This meant that my husband was unable to see at all so he was very upset and confused. At that moment I felt terribly upset and confused too. The feeling was that intense that I immediately woke up feeling scared. After a few seconds I felt so relieved that it had just been a horrible dream.

I asked my daughter Bella if she has had any dreams recently that she could remember. I was happy to hear that she had so I asked her to tell me all about it. She said that she was in a strange place surrounded by horses and fairies. It was all very pretty and peaceful. Then, suddenly someone held her and called her name. That was a voice that said “Your mum and dad are not here so you have to leave”. This had such an impact on her that she got super scared and because of that she woke up. When she told me her dream I was intrigued about what it meant. It would be nice if her dream is chosen and can be interpreted by Ian.

Bella’s dream and my dream were both unusual and made no sense. I would be interested to know what the meaning behind both dreams is. Fingers crossed we get picked! 🙂

Do you dream often? Do you remember what you dreamt about? Do you try to interpret them? Do you sleep better on the sofa or in bed? Please leave a comment below as I would love to read what you think.

I’ve suffered from night terrors all my adult life and I would love to be able to figure out why/whether they signify something. I find dreams so powerful especially when you wake up and have that moment when you’re not sure if it’s real or not. Hope you gets yours analysed, it will be interesting to see if you can relate to what they say! #kcacols

Dreams are so interesting! I find eating certain things make me dream but I’m the opposite to you in that when I was mega tired (for about 8 years) going through the baby/non-sleeping toddler years, I just didn’t dream. I also often find now that if I do dream, I forget it within minutes of waking which is really annoying because I’m just left with the ‘feeling’ of the dream- scared, happy, angry, upset- really frustrating! I love dreaming!! I am quite a lucid dreamer and can sometimes control what happens in them. Sometimes I can wake up and return to the same dream and I definitely dream in colour. I sometimes get sleep paralysis after a nap, which is terrifying. I would love to speak to a dream expert. Thank you for sharing. #kcacols

I have a lot of dreams at the moment that include family members, but not in a place I know. My dreams have been like this since my dad passed away a few months ago. I think it is my brains way of dealing with it all.

I have a dream book which can tell you a few interpretations. It would be really interesting to have dreams interpreted by a professional though. I have heard that your dreams are your way of ‘filing’ your thoughts and what is happening to you. I hope yours and Bella’s get interpreted.

I have very vivid dreams of being with my grandmother. She sadly passed away 15 years ago but on each occasion I have the dream it’s like she is meant to be there. It’s strangely comforting #KCACOLS

I find just about all my dreams strange or confusing. But I just shrug them off as my imagination getting out of hand when my conscious mind isn’t there to keep it under control. #KCACOLS

My dreams never make sense, they always seem so confusing if I think about them afterwards although at the time I dream them they make perfect sense lol. #Kcacols

God I haven’t remembered a dream I’ve had for ages. Often I can obviously tell that my brain is just progressing things that have happened or that I worried about. Would be really interesting to get a proper interpretation though #kcacols

The most vivid dreams I have are ones when my teeth fall out. They just crumble in my mouth and I try and force them to stay in with my hands but I can’t… horrible! I’m pretty sure they must be stress related, I think it’s quite a common thing to dream about. Interested to see how the campaign goes.

It’s not nice when you wake up feeling scared because of a dream, I hate it even more when you fall asleep again and back into the same dream at times! Hope you get chosen to have them analysed, would be so interesting to hear what it all means! #kcacols

My eldest had a bad dream last night. He dreamt he was on a hill with his friends and lots of animals came running. The animals took his brother as they passed and took him away. He found it very upsetting and came to my bed for a cuddle. It wasn’t until the next day when I asked it about it again, that I realised it was the scene from The Lion King. The one where Mufassa is swept away by the sweeping herd of wilder beasts. He confirmed that this was exactly right. It’s funny how their brains work.

I had a dream last night that all of my hair fell out, apart from a few strands! I think this is because my baby has just turned 12 weeks d and I’ve started to lose some of the hair that I gained during pregnancy. Let’s hope I don’t end up bald, like I did in my dream! #KCACOLS

I dream quite a lot and sometimes my dreams are really vivid. Sometimes I have awful dreams about things happening to friends or family, and they seem so real that I end up calling the people concerned when I wake up, just to make sure they’re ok! #KCACOLS

Oh I’m sure that dream was scary for little Bella! I occasionally have vivid dreams. One I remember really clearly is that I was a gangster’s moll for Eric Roberts! Yeah I don’t know where that came from either!

I don’t remember my dreams as much as I used to, I think there’s so much going on in real life I tend to forget them as soon as I wake up. When I was a teenager I used to write down my dreams, they were always so bizarre and fascinating, and I can still remember a few of the nightmares I had as a small child, and the feeling of terror that went with them. I occasionally have nightmares now, I think they must be stress-related, but I don’t try to remember them anymore. #KCACOLS
