Natural Travel Nausea Relief: Sea-Band Review

amomentwithfranca · 23 July 2017 · 44 Comments

It is finally the summer holiday season and if like me, you have plans to get away with the family to enjoy some quality time together. We are so looking forward to spending some time together in the sun, and on the beach. I guess, no matter how you will be travelling, by car, by boat, or plane, it can be a problem if you or a family member suffers from travel sickness. But there are ways to help you with this and one of them is using a Sea-Band wrist band.

Sea-Band Nausea Relief Review

We were contacted by Sea-Band to review their wrist bands and to also host a GIVEAWAY for three of my lucky readers to win a Sea-Band Holiday Activity Bundle. Check the bottom of this post for more information about the giveaway.

ABOUT SEA-BAND

Sea-Band are acupressure knitted wrist bands that are clinically proven to relieve motion sickness and morning sickness in addition to helping with post-operative and chemotherapy-induced nausea. They are the natural choice for drug free relief of all types of nausea.

Features:

  • Natural relief
  • No side effects
  • Effective
  • Reusable
  • Washable

HOW DOES IT WORK

It operates by applying pressure on the Nei Kuan acupressure point on each wrist by means of a plastic stud. Because the bands do not use drugs, they do not cause any of the side effects associated with anti-nausea drugs and can be worn on each wrist whenever you feel nauseous. They are suitable for adults and children. The nausea is typically reduced within 5 minutes after Sea-Bands are applied.

Sea-Band may be used to relieve motion sickness, morning sickness and cancer nausea and vomiting. To ensure your Sea-Bands work properly, you should follow the instructions of how to position your wristbands correctly. You should place your middle three fingers on the inside of your wrist with the edge of the third finger on the wrist crease. The Nei-Kuan point is just under the edge of your index finger between the two central tendons. Position the button facing downward over the Nei-Kuan point. Repeat the process for the other wrist.

SEA-BAND FOR ADULTS AND KIDS

Sea-Bands are available for adults and kids. This is very handy if you have a child that suffers from nausea. When I was pregnant with Sienna I was looking for a solution for my nausea and found out about this brand and bought a pair to try. I wore it a few times when I felt I really needed some help and it worked but thankfully my nausea didn’t last too long and I was fine after the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. I know some people have used them throughout the whole of their pregnancy as their nausea didn’t ease and they were grateful to find a solution.

We received a couple of kid’s Sea-Band wrist bands for each of my girls too. They came in pink with a cool design. My girls really love the idea of wearing them. They see it as an accessory rather than something that might help them if they get travelling sickness. We haven’t needed to use them as we have not been away and my girls have been fine but when we do travel we are looking forward to taking them with us just in case we need them. They come in different colours which make it even cooler! They are machine washable and come in handy cases so you can keep them safe and clean.

WHERE YOU CAN BUY THEM

Sea-Band is sold in pharmacy and drugstore chains across the world. It is available from all major retailers and online. You can get it from Boots for £8.59 or Amazon from £7.99 (blue colour). See Amazon details below:

HAPPY HOLIDAY ACTIVITY PACK

We were also sent a fun holiday activity pack to keep and use when we travel with the girls. This activity kit from Sea-Band is great to keep the family busy and engaged throughout your journey, whether you are waiting in queues, or on board the plane or boat, or even at your destination. We are really looking forward to taking them on our next holiday.

This fun and entertaining colouring book comes with plenty of games, mazes, word squares and spot the differences, combined with samples of Sea-Bands. So, however you get to your destination, Sea-Band’s Happy Holiday Activity booklet is packed with full activities for the kids of all ages which means there will be a lot less arguments this summer!

If you are planning to travel this summer and any of your family members suffers from travel sickness, you should get one of these Se-Band wristbands. For more information about types of nausea and forms of prevention, visit the Sea-Band website.

Do you suffer from travel sickness? If  so, what do you do to relieve the symptoms? Have you heard of Sea-Band wrist bands before? Have you used them?

I still suffer from travel sickness now if I don’t watch the road all of the time, so I can’t read or play games at all, even as a passenger. I’d not heard of Sea-Bands before, but they sound worth a go

Very interesting as I do suffer from travel sickness if I am not careful.
I do have some wrist bands, which I have had a long time. Proved to be helpful after operations and when traveling by coach, airplane and boats.
Would be nice to have some new ones.

My 12 year old son suffers with travel sickness, we usually carry mints or chewing gums or hard boiled sweets with us but these would be much easier and more convenient, we haven’t tried them before but should do especially as we have UK holidays with a 4+ hours drive which ends up with him not enjoying the 1st day bless him xxx

I get travel sickness on a plane if there’s bad turbulence, and I’ve never actually tried to treat it with anything! I didn’t know that Seaband existed, but now that I do I’m definitely going to buy it before our next trip! Thanks!
