Our Favourite Toy Reviews of 2020

Tracey Bowden · 23 January 2021 · 24 Comments

We are so lucky to have reviewed some really great toys over the past few years. Bella and Sienna have really had their work cut out, putting the different toys through their paces to find out exactly how good they are and if they are suitable for different children of all kinds of ages.

I thought I would put together a list of our favourite reviews for 2020 so you had a go-to list of toy reviews to help you choose the ideal presents for your children or children in your family and friend circle this year.

If you do see something you like, you can find all of the toys in my Amazon Store!

Baby Born Surprise Dolls Series 3

Baby Born Surprise dolls Series 3 come in a cute little egg wrapped in fabric and each one contains over 10 surprises. You get one doll along with accessories such as a bottle to feed them, a swaddling cloth and many others. There are 12 different characters to collect, each with 10 different surprises.

The girls really enjoyed unboxing the Baby Born Surprise Dolls Series 3. The whole experience from opening the egg to checking the gender, date of birth and name of the doll is really good. Definitely a lot of fun for kids!

Baby Born Surprise Dolls Series 4

We also reviewed Baby Born Surprise Dolls Series 4. It has a magical/garden theme and this time the stork brings baby plants, how cool is that? They come in a flower packaging that is very cute and colourful. You only need to unwrap the flower packaging to discover the new baby which comes with 10 exciting surprises inside.

The dolls are fully poseable. They can sit, move legs and arms. The collector’s guide is great because it comes with games as well as a birth certificate. The girls really love playing with their Baby Born Surprise Dolls Series 4.

Na! Na! Na! Surprise Series 2

The Na! Na! Na! Surprise collectables are a unique unboxing experience that is gaining popularity in a very competitive market. Brought you from MGA Entertainment who are behind L.O.L Surprise Dolls, these new dolls bring a new dimension to the unboxing experience for kids.

The girls thought that it was one of the most exciting unboxing experience that they have had for a while. The confetti was the best part of it for them. The Na! Na! Na! Surprise doll they got was adorable and they really loved the animal-themed idea. The doll is really good quality and the attention to detail is really fantastic. I would definitely get one for your kids. They will love it!

So Slime Tie-Dye Kit

The good thing about the So Slime Tie-Dye Kit is that it comes with ready-made slime so they don’t need to prepare the slime which means less mess to deal with. This is for sure a great feature. All they need to do is add the scented colours and glitter.

It’s easier to use and overall less messy than other kits we have tried before. The girls had a really fun afternoon playing with the So Slime Tie-Dye Kit. They loved discovering the new colours that were appearing from their slimes.

Build Your Own Plane Launcher Kit

Build Your Own Plane Launcher Kit is such a great toy to have. We love that it’s mess free as you don’t need glue. It was a lot of fun for Sienna to build it with daddy. I have to highlight how impressed I was that it is a plastic-free toy. The Build Your Own Plane Launcher Kit only uses cardboard which is such a great initiative for a brand. It is great that it comes with a QR code so you can scan it and then be taken to their instructions online. The video with the instructions is very helpful.

It is not only of amazing quality but it is also educational. The Build Your Own Plane Launcher ticks all the boxes when you are looking to buy a new toy. This is definitely a great toy for your kids. They will enjoy building it and then playing with it alone or with friends.

Rainbow High Doll

You can collect 6 beautiful fashion dolls with Rainbow High (Poppy, Sunny, Jade, Skyler, Violet and Ruby). Each has its own stylish look and colour, and are all about embracing their creativity and having fun.

We got Ruby Anderson. She’s dressed in red from head to toe, and she has gorgeous features, long eyelashes and beautiful, brushable hair. Sienna loves her! Sienna loves this doll. It is one of her favourite dolls. Check out this Rainbow High REEL that I did with the girls showing Ruby. You can see a little bit closer how does she looks like it.

Squishmallows Squad 4

This super soft collectible plush toy is the perfect couch companion and pillow pal for kids of all ages! Each Squishmallow has its own distinct personality. Once you’ve got your very first huggable Squishmallow friend, you’ll understand why the snuggle is real! Squishmallows are incredibly soft and cute making them the perfect couch companions for kids of all ages.

Each Squishmallow has its own distinct personality, encouraging fun and imaginative play. The newest characters set to bring joy with the launch of Squad 4 include: Chloe the Poodle, Andres the Sheltie, Hank the Hippo, Tatiana the Dragon, Lucy-May the Rainbow Llama-Pegacorn, Carlos the Crab, Gordon the Shark, Leonard the Lion, Henry the Sea Turtle, Cienna the Caticorn, Liv the Leopard, Cici the Red Panda, Piper the Penguin, Margaux the Purple Llama-Pegacorn, Priscilla the Peacock, Reina the Butterfly and Kenny the Dragon.

My girls are obsessed with them and can’t stop squeezing them. They are incredibly soft. You need to get one for your kids. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Blume Baby Pot Set

The Blume Baby Pop is very cool because they grow in front of your eyes. ⁣My girls love them and they play a lot with this set.⁣ Blume Baby Pop are super cute babies that grown in sprouts. They come inside a flower planter that contains 5 sprouts.

There are over 50 babies to collect and each planter contains 25 surprises, 1 sticker sheet and 1 collector map. ⁣You have 3 babies that are guaranteed in each set but you can get up to 5! You need to pull out the sprout from its flowerpot to create the ‘POP’ sound. You then twist the top counter clockwise to open and reveal the baby or a cute accessory.

There are 30 Adorable babies, 15 Rare babies and 5 Super Rare babies. ⁣ The Blume Baby Pop set also comes with a secret nursery and a swimming pool. Every piece is reusable which makes this toy worth it for its money.

Poopsie Dancing Unicorn

We also received the new Poopsie Dancing Unicorn. Poopsie was more targeted for Sienna. She adores her. She is so funny.

Little ones can dance and sing along to her silly song, inspired by the popular, viral Poopsie music video “My Poops” on YouTube with over 40 million views. She actually really dances and sings which is very cool. Poopsie Dancing Unicorn shakes her magical booty and sings to her song, just like in her music video. Dance along as she sings, moves her feet, arms and head, shakes her belly, dances in circles and more. Check out this REEL that Sienna did with Poopsie.

L.O.L. Surprise! Remix Super Surprise

And last but not least, we reviewed the L.O.L. Surprise! Remix Super Surprise which is amazing. It comes with 70 pieces. Unbox 2 rock bands with L.O.L. Surprise! O.M.G. Remix Super Surprise – The Opening Act and The Super Sonix. Includes 4 L.O.L. Surprise! O.M.G. fashion dolls with stunning features, gorgeous, styled hair and outrageous, rock star style. They’re the big sisters to fan favourite L.O.L. Surprise! characters.

Check out this INSTAGRAM HIGHLIGHT where my girls unboxed it. It is so cool.

What do you think of our top picks? Which one would you get for your little ones?

I love posts like this, it helps so much when buying gifts for children that are older than yours and you don’t know what they are into. My daughter would love the plane launcher, purely because she’s into throwing things at the minute (she’s 3!)

✨Breakfast✨.Nothing like a healthy filling b ✨Breakfast✨.Nothing like a healthy filling breakfast, right? I have been trying to keep eating a good breakfast every morning to help me with my low iron! .Most days I have branflakes and sometimes weetabix but Fridays to Sundays, I make a little effort and prepare overnight oats. I love them! They are so tasty and leave me satisfy for hours which means not craving for snacks until lunch time! Win win 😀.I prepare the oats with chia seeds, almond milk, vanilla extract, honey and leave it overnight. In the morning, I serve it with strawberries, blueberries, banana and honey. It is so good! 😋 I vary the fruit that I put in but everything else is the same..What do you like eating for breakfast?.#overnightoats #oatsforbreakfast #easybreakfast #simplebreakfast #togobreakfast #quickbreakfast #breakfastideas #healthybreakfastideas #breakfastinspo #breakfastbowl #breakfastgoals #breakfastlover #oatmealbowl #breakfastclub #oatmealbowl
✨Teacher’s Strike Day✨.Happy hump day! So ✨Teacher’s Strike Day✨.Happy hump day! So we have our first teacher’s strike day today which means no school and learning from home..Bella is doing her school work via Google classroom so she will follow her normal school day that way and Sienna doesn’t have a structured day from school today so she should have a day off but we have agreed for her to do some work too, so she will be reading, practicing for her spelling test and doing some maths. This way we can all have a productive day 😉, well hopefully! 😬. Have you been affected by the strike today? ✨Happy Friday✨.Did you have a good week? Unf ✨Happy Friday✨.Did you have a good week? Unfortunately, it wasn’t that good for us because the girls have been under the weather. Bella started first with a sore throat and high fever for a few days and then when Bella got better, Sienna started! She got a horrible cough but no temperature. Her cough was that bad that she couldn’t sleep very well for a couple of nights. They are both much better now and back to school.. The weather hasn’t helped either. It has been so cold lately! I literally feel frozen all the time. Thankfully it is looking better atm as the temperatures are starting to rise. I decided to get my flu vaccine, so I hope it protects me from all these viruses that are going around! Have you had the flu vaccine too? .On another note, I went yesterday to a parents meeting about GCSE options for Bella. I can’t believe she needs to think about it already ahead of Year 9. The time really goes fast. Are your kids dealing with GCSEs too?.📸 Sharing this beautiful bouquet of flowers from @freddiesflowers to brighten up our day.#flowerarrangement #flowerdelivery #bouquetofflowers #flowersmakemehappy #loveflowers #flowersoftheday #flowersoftheweek #flowerlover #freshflowers #flowerobsession #bunchofflowers #foreverflowers #flowersofinstagram #homesweethome
