Wow, February literally passed by so quickly! I can’t believe March is already here and it is welcoming us with such lovely weather, isn’t it? ⁣
⁣
This weekend was lovely. We literally were out for a walk without a jacket. It was so warm that it felt like Spring already. It definitely brought a big smile to all of us. The sun lifts your spirit, doesn’t it? ⁣
⁣
One more week of homeschooling and we will be starting to get some normality. The girls are so excited to go back to school. If the days keep being so nice, we will be using our scooters to go to school! I can’t wait as I really need an excuse to keep myself more active. ⁣
⁣
I also started a diet last week. I ordered a 28-day meal plan in which I have to follow my daily allowed calories according to my BMI. Tomorrow will be one week of it and I am not going to lie, I have struggled because I was so hungry but I got my willpower back and was determined to keep going. I will check my weight tomorrow, so fingers crossed it paid off. ⁣
⁣
We also decided to book a couple of holidays. One in May and another one in July, so we are super excited! Something to look forward to. Let’s hope all plans stay the same. 🤞🏻⁣
⁣
📸 I am sharing a photo of @ivychelsgarden. We went there a year ago. Such a gorgeous place! 𝙃𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙗𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚?⁣

Since the announcement on Monday, I cannot stop feeling so hopeful and positive! I can’t wait for 8th March so the girls can go back to school. We already received an email from the school confirming this is happening so we are very excited. The girls are really looking forward to seeing their friends. They need that interaction! ❤️⁣
⁣
I also cannot stop smiling today because I managed to book an appointment at the hairdresser for 13th April. Whoop Whoop! This was due way before this pandemic started so you can imagine how much I need it! This makes me incredibly happy! 😃⁣
⁣
We haven’t booked any holidays yet but we are looking for options. We definitely need a break but really contemplating booking somewhere abroad as we definitely need guaranteed good weather. I just want to lay down on the beach sunbathing with a cocktail. 𝙃𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙗𝙤𝙤𝙠𝙚𝙙 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜? 🏝✈️⁣

📸 I am sharing a photo that we took this time last year in Carnaby, Soho. We went to eat at @pastaiolondon with my niece who was staying with us. I can’t wait to go back there and have a meal at Pastaio again. The food is delicious! 𝙃𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚?⁣

We didn’t do much apart from watching movies, visits to the GP, Pharmacy and supermarkets. We didn’t even manage to do walks either 🙈 My girls are obsessed with Roblox so I feel I have to drag them out of the flat so we can go for a walk! 𝘼𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙠𝙞𝙙𝙨 𝙤𝙗𝙨𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙜𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙤𝙤?⁣
⁣
I don’t think I am ready for another term of homeschooling but the good news is that at least our batteries are recharged. Let’s see what Boris says tomorrow. Do you think we will be out of this lockdown soon? ⁣
⁣
I got a lot of messages about Bella’s burn so I wanted to say Thank You so much as well as giving you an update. We went on Friday to the GP and the nurse changed her dressing. We saw it and it has healed well and the nurse was happy with it but I am worried as it still looks very big and the scar might not vanish that easily. Bella doesn’t seem to be worried which is a relief as you don’t want your kids to be traumatised after an accident like this. Bless her!⁣
⁣
I guess we just have to give it time and hopefully with lots of creams it will disappear. I will have to change her dressing by myself on Tuesday, so I will check how it is looking by then. Fingers crossed it is getting better. 🤞🏻⁣
⁣
📸 I am sharing a photo from Symi, Greece. Nick and I visited it for our 10th anniversary back in May 2019 childfree. What would I do for holidays like this again? We went to Rhodes and took a ferry to visit this gorgeous island. It is an under 2 hours trip. 🚤 𝙃𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙫𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙎𝙮𝙢𝙞 𝙗𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚? If not it is definitely somewhere you should add to your travel bucket list. If you would like to find more about Symi I have added a blog post I have written when we visited (link in my bio). ⁣

These two are my world! I love them so much! When they get hurt, I feel it too! It is a pain inside my heart that won’t go away until I know they are okay. This is how I felt on Tuesday night when my eldest daughter, Bella (10 years old) had an accident at home. ⁣
⁣
If you have watched my stories, you probably know that she hurt herself. She was pouring some hot water from the kettle into a hot water-bottle. She got distracted and poured some of the water on her legs. 😞⁣
⁣
At the start it didn’t look that bad. So we did everything we thought we should do when something like that happens. We put cold water on her leg straight away, then we put lots of aloe vera very often for about 1 hour. We have a bottle of 100% aloe vera which is amazing for this kind of burn. ⁣
⁣
It was time to go to bed, so we put aloe vera one more time and wrapped her leg with cling film. We also gave her ibuprofen for the pain and some ice inside a zip bag which seemed to help with the hot sensation she had in that area. ⁣
⁣
She slept that night with me, so I was able to check on her during the night. Thankfully, she slept through the night but when she woke up, we checked her skin and inevitably she had a big blister. It didn’t look good, so we called the GP and we got an emergency appointment straight away which was very helpful. ⁣
⁣
When we arrived the nurse cleared the area and burst the blister. It looked better after that and she covered her skin with a special dressing to avoid any infections. She is fine at the moment. It doesn’t hurt her anymore which is a relief as it could be uncomfortable. ⁣
⁣
We have been asked to go back to the GP on Friday, so the nurse can change her dressing. We are really hoping her skin has healed well and that she won’t have a big scar. I know this will take time and hopefully with creams it will vanish. But right now we are just waiting for Friday, so we can see her skin again. Fingers crossed it is all good! Wish us luck! 🤞🏻⁣

I am not very good at cooking. Luckily for me, Nick not only enjoys cooking but he is actually very good at it. And it looks like the girls have inherited his skills as they are quite good too, especially Bella. ⁣
⁣
We received a fun and interactive workbook that @maplecanadauk and @cookschoolclub have created together to encourage young children to get cooking. These workbooks are aimed for children aged three to eleven years old. The idea is to help children to better understand their food and teach them new skills. ⁣
⁣
There are 3 workbooks. One for children aged three to five (early years), another one for kids five to seven-year-olds (key stage 1), and the final book for ages seven to eleven (key stage 2). Each workbook contains two recipes, a series of activities and a list of the key skills learnt from completing the book together with a step-by-step recipe video. These workbooks are perfect to do while we are in lockdown surviving homeschooling, It is a fun activity to do with your kids. ⁣
⁣
The recipe they chose was 𝙈𝙖𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝘽𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙙 𝘽𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙨. It has lots of vegetables, baked beans, bread among other ingredients. And of course, the most important ingredient was the 𝘾𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝙈𝙖𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙎𝙮𝙧𝙪𝙥 𝙞𝙣 𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙚 𝘼𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧. There are four grades of Canadian maple syrup and each has its own distinct colour, flavour profile and qualities (Golden, Amber, Dark and Very Dark) which brings different tastes and versatility, it is good for you as well as being a natural source of energy. ⁣
⁣
The girls did a fantastic job. The Canadian Maple Syrup was the highlight of the recipe. It gave it a pinch of sweetness that was delicious. And the best part is that they had a lot of fun! ⁣
⁣
The workbooks are free to download from @maplecanadauk website. There is a link in my bio. ⁣

SO happy that it is Wednesday already! So, 2 more days and it’s finally Half Term! I can’t wait to forget about homeschooling and just relax with the girls. It would be nice to stay a little bit longer in bed and not stress about any Zoom meetings at 8:40 am!⁣
⁣
Today was actually a good day! We managed to get all the school work done on time. No screams or tantrums at all which was nice! So this afternoon I had some time to catch up with my emails and do some work which always gives me such a feeling of relief. ⁣
⁣
I don’t think I have mentioned it here before but we are doing some redecorating in our flat. I suppose, the same as a lot of people in this country! Or even around the world! Am I right? What else can you do, right? Home seems to be the place that we spend 99% of the time, so what better investment than make it a little bit more comfy for us. ⁣

We are painting the bathrooms, the hallway, the kitchen and the master bedroom. We are planning to change all the cabinet doors and drawers in the kitchen. It is a little project that we've had in mind since the lockdown started and I can’t wait to see how it all looks in the end. ⁣

📸 Sharing another photo of the day it snowed so much in London a couple of weeks ago. And look at our snowmen! We were so proud of the results! 😉⛄️❄️⁣

You might have noticed that I haven’t been around much lately! It has been a tough week. I think I started on the wrong foot already because I spent all my energy doing my taxes during the weekend (yes I know, I am always the same each year leaving things until the last minute but this time it was actually impossible to get anything done on time). So instead of recharging my energy during the weekend and relaxed after a long week of homeschooling, I got myself into a stressful situation because I was dreading the deadline. At the end I managed to submit on time but it really drained me. 𝘿𝙞𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙠𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙙𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙩𝙖𝙭𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙤𝙤?⁣

So, I started this week feeling very tired and restless and this probably got to me that bad that I started feeling under the weather. You can imagine that this combination is of course a bomb: “homeschooling + feeling ill” is the worst plus trying to add to it some deadlines for work! I was feeling awful so I just needed a break from here. ⁣
⁣
Today, I managed to get some work done which made me feel much better and suddenly the cold went away. I am certain my issue was 80% stress and 20% a mild cold. It is just so hard to deal with everything lately, isn’t it? ⁣
⁣
I am honestly counting the days to half term. 𝙒𝙚 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙖 𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙠, 𝙙𝙤𝙣’𝙩 𝙬𝙚?⁣

📸 I was going through my camera roll today looking for a photo to share and instead I found this slow motion video that Sienna was very keen to do while playing in the one excited snow day we got in London. As soon as I saw it made me smile and made me have positive thoughts, so I thought to share it with you so perhaps it will make you smile too! I guess the snow always makes people happy, doesn’t it? ⁣
